Lewis Environmental hosts Cold Tapping Session

Lewis Environmental recently provided a class for hazardous materials technicians that focused on Cold Tapping. Cold Tapping is a technique used to access a container when damage and interoperability makes normal methods of product transfer impossible. Workers can tap into a container without the need for potentially dangerous welding or hot work.

Several groups came together to for the training and assisted in the class including Samuel Coraluzzo, Co. & Torrissi Transport LLC, Chester County HAZMAT Team, Montgomery County HAZMAT Team and Burlington County HAZMAT Team. Crews conducted a classroom session followed by hands-on practical skills with stations including Grounding & Bonding, Cargo Tank Construction, Transfer Operations and Cold-Tapping.

The Lewis Group offers ongoing training for our team members and partners to continually advance knowledge, skill and motivation in our core competencies of emergency response, industrial maintenance, remediation and waste services.
