June, 2021 – Royersford, PA – In 1996, a team of experts headquartered in Chester County, Pennsylvania began working with regional businesses by providing environmental contracting and emergency response services. Thomas Lewis, Sr., former CEO for a publicly traded environmental services firm, along with his sons identified the regional market and launched Lewis Environmental, Inc.

The company founders had a long history of working within the environmental and waste related industries along with an entrepreneurial spirit that positioned Lewis Environmental to grow.

As offerings evolved, the service company quickly established a reputation for best-in-class environmental services along with an experienced workforce with an industry leading safety record.

What started out as largely the removal of residential storage tanks and waste oil recycling evolved to provide specialized services including complex in-situ stabilization of contaminated soils, brownfields remediation, inland and marine spill response, hazardous waste transportation and disposal, confined space rescue, bio-infectious waste management and more.

Thomas’ son Rick Lewis was named President and CEO in 2007. The second generation expanded service offering further and opened additional field offices throughout the northeast United States and central Florida, now with a strong eastern seaboard service footprint.

In 2018, the company restructured under the parent, Lewis Group. While Lewis Environmental remains a cutting-edge environmental service company with an arsenal of equipment, fleets of specialty trucks and marine assets and the most experienced workforce in the industry, Lewis Property Services and Lewis Development were added as important related divisions.

Lewis Property Services brings high-level property management services to the company’s roster of clients and has since transformed into a premium commercial landscape and irrigation services operation throughout central Florida. Lewis Development focuses on the company’s rehabilitation of brownfield sites in which they routinely operate including a massive revitalization project in Royersford, PA, near the company headquarters. The Riverfront at Royersford is currently in the permitting phase but will feature residential, restaurant and boutique retail space as well as recreational opportunities including river access.

Today, The Lewis Group partners with clients ranging from one-day industrial maintenance projects to year-long mitigation and remediation efforts, both inland and nearshore. The company most recently pivoted to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic, providing sanitization services to thousands of buildings, vehicles, aircraft, marine vessels, retail venues and more.
