ROYERSFORD, PA – (November 28, 2017) –Thanksgiving has come and gone but the good will of the Open Door Ministry in Royersford, Pennsylvania marches on into the holiday season and a whole new year of community support. It’s what they do.
Open Door Ministry, Royersford, PAThe non-profit Open Door Ministry provides human services and support for the Spring-Ford Area of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and The Lewis Group has been supporting the organization for the past several years.
“Open Door Ministry does an excellent job supporting the local community in a variety of ways,” says Rick Lewis, President and CEO of the Lewis Group. “We enjoy contributing to their mission a handful of times each year.”
This past Thanksgiving, The Lewis Group delivered several dozen pies to Open Door’s pantry.
The Lewis Group is well known for supporting worthy causes in the community but that’s not all they’re doing to help make their corporate home a better place. Recently, The Lewis Group reclaimed a large piece of land in Royersford for their headquarters and the riverfront’s ongoing improvements are positively changing the face of the community.
“We want everything this company does to be based in the values we’ve defined in our company culture,” remarks Lewis, the second-generation leader of the family-founded service company with operations along the east coast.
The mission of Open Door Ministry is to, quite literally, be an open door–a nurturing, faith-based organization that welcomes those in need and offers community-based programs, including a food pantry, a thrift shop and volunteer opportunities. Open Door brings people together within the community and provides support, compassion and understanding.
“We adopt a family or two at Christmas and we fill several trucks around the holidays and deliver hundreds of items to their pantry,” Lewis adds. “We are all inspired by Open Door Executive Director, Karen Maute and her staff.”
